Bankers Life Fieldhouse (Indianapolis, Indiana)

Bankers Life Fieldhouse is an indoor arena located in Downtown Indianapolis, Indiana, United States. It opened in November 1999 to replace Market Square Arena. The arena is the home of the Indiana Pacers of the National Basketball Association and the Indiana Fever of the Women’s National Basketball Association. The Fieldhouse also hosts college basketball games (including the annual Big Ten Conference tournaments), indoor concerts, and ice hockey.

Club Level

Sections 101-108 and 110-120 at Bankers Life Fieldhouse make up the Krieg DeVault Club Level. These seats offer additional elevation over the lower level, giving them some of the most comfortable views of the court.

Fans sitting on the Club Level are treated to wider, more comfortable seating, in-seat wait service, and access to the upscale club concourse which features premium food and beverage options.

Courtside Club

Fans in rows 1-7 on the lower seating tier will have access to the impressive LightBound Courtside Club Lounge which features a 360 degree bar with 40 taps and multiple television monitors. Ticketholders will also have exclusive access to premium concessions and live music performances within the lounge.

In addition to upscale amenities, fans in these club seats will have the opportunity to see the players before they enter the court.

Legends Club

Legends seating on the Club Level is found in sections 109-112. Despite having a view from behind the basket, these are widely considered some of the best seats at a Pacers game.

Legends Club ticketholders will be treated to all-inclusive food and beverage which can be ordered off an in-seat menu or from the Legends restaurant. The restaurant features carving stations, multiple Chef Tables, other premium food options and a number of seating options.

The Bankers Life Fieldhouse Box Office is located in the Entry Pavilion of the Fieldhouse. They are open Monday-Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The box office hours of operation will vary on weekends and event days. Thirty-minute parking for box office purchases is available as indicated in the lot on the northwest corner of the building. Accessible from Pennsylvania Street those spaces are marked with signs that read “30 minute parking for Box Office and the Pacers Team Store”. Parking in other spaces not indicated for box office or gift shop may result in towing at owner’s expense.

2. Empty meter spaces are a few blocks from Bankers Life Fieldhouse. Most meters in the area cost $1.50 per hour until 9 p.m. Mondays through Saturdays and are free on Sundays.

Handicap parking spaces are available at all lots, including the Virginia Avenue parking garage. Additionally, there is a drop-off point on Bankers Life Court. This is located on the north side of the building, behind the Fieldhouse Box Office. It is accessible from Bankers Life Court, a one-way street going east (off of Pennsylvania Street).

There is no shortage of food at Bankers Life Fieldhouse and all concessions stands in fan-accessible areas are open during Fever games. Highlights include bottomless popcorn for $8, something that satisfies large groups and families, and chicken wings for $10. The team also offers the option to bundle some food items, such as bottomless popcorn and two waters for $17, or popcorn, a pretzel with cheese, and a soda for $16.75, or wings, fries, and a domestic draft beer for $24.

These package deals offer the ease of being able to order everything you want to get a complete meal while saving a few bucks in the process. The lines are rarely long thanks to all the stands being open, and the quality of the food is high, so floppy burgers and stale chips are not likely to be found anywhere here.

Bankers Life Fieldhouse may well be listed as a museum as well as a stadium due to the countless display cases, halls of fame, photos, trophies, jerseys, and exhibits you can find throughout the property – this venue truly is an homage to the sport that Hoosiers love most. Bankers Life Fieldhouse is right next to downtown Indianapolis, meaning you’re in the heart of the city’s restaurants, shopping, and attractions. The Indianapolis Canal Walk is near downtown which provides great shopping next to the river. You can also visit the Indianapolis Zoo, the iconic Soldiers and Sailors Monument, or Indianapolis Motor Speedway while in town. Within blocks of the arena are restaurants to the tune of Steak N Shake, Yard House, St. Elmo Steak House, The Old Spaghetti Factory, Hard Rock Café, and many more. Hotels are also plentiful downtown, including a Hampton Inn and a Hilton Garden Inn.

Fans

Fever fans have been loyal in Indianapolis since the team first debuted. However, after years of success, a downturn in the last few seasons has led to a drop-off in attendance. Awards and recognitions

Bankers Life Fieldhouse was ranked the No. 1 venue in the NBA according to the Sports Business Journal/Sports Business Daily Reader Survey. The Ultimate Sports Road Trip reaffirmed Bankers Life Fieldhouse as the best venue in all 4 of the major sports leagues. Farrell and Kulyk said that the Ultimate Sports Road Trip has recently concluded a re-scoring and re-evaluation of all 122 franchises in the four major sports.

Based on the criteria, Bankers Life Fieldhouse has again withstood scrutiny to be named the “best of the best” in the four major sports. Everything about Bankers Life Fieldhouse is top notch, a sparkling venue in a sparkling city.

The  Fieldhouse hosted the FINA Short Course World Swimming Championships. A 25 meter 300,000 gallon competition pool and 174,000 gallon warm-up pool were temporarily installed. A total of 71,659 tickets were sold for the four-day event. The crowd on the evening set a record for the largest attendance at a U.S. Swimming event outside of the Olympics with 11,488 people.

Scoreboard

A giant state-of-the-art scoreboard was added to Bankers Life Fieldhouse. The scoreboard features twin 1080p high definition (HD) video screens, each measuring 50 feet long – extending nearly foul line to foul line – by 21 feet high. In addition to the HD screens running the length of the court, the innovative rectangular scoreboard design is capped by a 25’ by 14’ full 1080p HD video screen facing each baseline. The result of the design is a greatly improved visual experience from nearly every seat in the building. Additionally, a new sound system was installed.
