Pitch count
The pitch count is the measurable statistics showing the number of pitches performed by pitchers . It concerns young pitchers, players who recover from injuries, award nominations, etc. Because the pitch is complex and exhausting action, the leagues limit the maximal number of pitches per player. For example, the Little League teams replace the performers at the mound after 50 pitches in elementary school to 105 attempts in high.

The count system was implemented in the 1960s and replaced the tradition when the pitcher played the complete game (9 innings) or needed replacement due to injury. When the pitch count came into effect, the coaches started to replace the players, although they could throw balls effectively. The professional leagues have limit of 125 pitches—the cases when this number is exceeded in rare cases.
