Toyota Stadium (Frisco, Texas)

Toyota Stadium — a stadium with a sliding roof for 45,000 seats in Toyota, Aichi Prefecture, Japan. It was built in 2001 and is often used as a home for the J1 Nagoya Grampus League club. The stadium is football-specific, which gives the matches a real football aura, but its location outside the city of Nagoya makes it inappropriate to unite the fans of the club in its exposed hometown.

It is also used by Toyota Verblitz, the rugby team in the big leagues.

  • Seats in Beer Garden closed.

Winners Club

Sections 105-107 on the player side offer a convenient overview in the center of the field on the less sunny side of the stadium. They are known as club seats and are among the best places in the Toyota stadium.

At the Dallas FC matches, ticket holders in these sections will have access to the newly renovated club hall. The private lounge is available only to club ticket holders and is a great way to fight the Texas heat. Stay in the climate-controlled zone to cool down or have a drink at the full-service bar. You can also order food from the full menu, catch up around the league and purchase comfortable living room furniture.

Hall of Fame Club

Hall of Fame Club Halls are home to some of the only indoor seating in the stadium. Club members will have access to all clubs located in the stadium, including the Winners Club, the Open Club and the Hall of Fame Club.

Supporters

The fans section consists of a beer garden on the north side of the stadium. This section is for fans to stand, shout and cheer out loud. There are also beer options at a discount.

Where to buy tickets?

Tickets for FC Dallas are very similar to the rest of the MLS prices. The total number of seats at the entrance can be about $ 25 per seat. This is with standard concession prices — this may mean that you need to plan a visit to the game, especially if you bring a family. However, considering that parking is free along with all the sights and field activities more than makes up for the cost.

Frisco is easily accessible from any part of the metropolis, and it is located right on the northern toll road of Dallas. Again, you can reach it from any part of Metroplex in an hour.

Frisco is also 5 hours from San Antonio and Austin and just under 4 hours from Houston. At the famous (or perhaps notorious) DFW airport there are flights arriving from all over the country at any time of the day, if you have a desire to visit this route this way.

At Toyota Stadium, in areas designated for matches, there is ample parking; As an added bonus, parking is free.

Where to eat?

If there is something that Texas does well, especially at sporting events, that is food. The stadium “Toyota” has blocked the food scene. There is literally something for every taste. All concessions are located at the level of the main hall. In the cafe Lone Star you will be offered traditional dishes: hamburgers, hot dogs, nachos, popcorn, pretzels, sweets, etc. Most concession items can be bought for 5–9 dollars. A standard hot dog costs $ 5, and a large soda in a souvenir cup costs $ 7 (with the addition of $ 2 throughout the game); This is pretty standard for a major league sport.

The fact that Toyota Stadium stands out is in their concessions and attractions. In the main hall there are three bars of the “bar” type. The Toyota Terrace, Big Kick Bar and Budweiser Beer Garden are great places to buy a drink for adults and participate in the game. If you’re looking for a grub, the Urban Crust pop-up trailer near the main entrance has an excellent — albeit a stripped down version — their popular menu. You can get a craft craft pizza for $ 10. This is probably the most popular eating place in the stadium, so you can wait.

Forncher’s Original State Fair Corny Dogs is also located in the east gate. Fletcher’s is proud to be the creator of the corn dog and offers them every year at the Texas State Fair. I would recommend visiting their booth if you visit the game at the Toyota Stadium. Another interesting wrinkle on the food scene to mention. In the eastern lobby there is a Chef’s Corner counter, which is not like anything I saw on sports fields. Each game the chef cooks for gourmets for 12 dollars. The menu changes for each game, but, apparently, this is food that can be obtained in a five-star restaurant.

Atmosphere

FC Dallas does a great job of creating an atmosphere similar to European (which means that there is a lot of energy in the crowd) for their matches. Parking is full of rear gates, and this attitude is maintained by the back door of Lamar, which takes place in the north hall next to the main gate. That’s all you know, the back door, complete with music, fans, food and drinks. It ends with a celebrity who puts a scarf on a Dallas football club around the neck of a statue of the late Lamar Hunt, the patron saint of sports in the Dallas area.

During matches, patios are a great place to watch in the shade. This is important, believe me. If you can, you should spend some time in these places to avoid the heat. The Toyota Stadium is an open-air playground, but it’s hot in Texas, especially during the summer months, so keep that in mind.

As in many sports clubs, in FC Dallas there are many auxiliary rides that complement the course of the stadium. There is a drum that plays without a break throughout the match, FCDrum. There are cheerleaders, Dallas Girls football clubs, and the stadium even has DJs Bass Junkies. All this together makes the process of watching the game truly unforgettable in Frisco.

Neighborhood

Frisco, like many other communities in the Dallas-Fort Worth metro area, has become something of a busy city. Everything you could want in terms of shops, restaurants and hotels is located here in Friske. And if for some reason you cannot find it, Dallas, Fort Worth, Arlington, Irving, Plano, Grandview, etc. Are within an hour’s drive.

The city abounds in other sporting opportunities if you come to the Dallas FC game at the right time of year. Chief among them are the Dallas cowboys; five-time Super Bowl champions built their training bases in Frisco. “Star in Frisk” is an amazing object, and they allow you to make tours all year round.

It is worth mentioning another point in Frisco itself. In a modest multipurpose building is the National Museum of Video Games. If you ever picked up a game controller, dropped a quarter in your local arcade, or participated in any online quests, you should make a pilgrimage. The museum tells the history of how games were developed, has a collection of all the game consoles ever (and they are all playable) and has a classic arcade game for video games. The highlight is the wall version of the classic game Pong.

The fans

Dallas-Fort Worth is greatly undervalued as a “sports city.” Fans are loyal, and they turn out to be crowds, especially when they have a winner in their hands. However, this is not always translated into football. FC Dallas finished last in the league in terms of attendance in 2016, even at the height of a very successful season. This may be the case when there are too many events in “Big D.” Attention can be easily divided into everything that happens there.

However, the fans who really turn out to be extremely loyal, passionate and knowledgeable about the game. There is a ton of tailgate, as mentioned. Fans come early and come steadily throughout the first half. They wear their team colors and team scarves (even in the heat with three numbers), and they sing all the time. There are also several fan clubs that have their own sections in the Toyota stadium. It is not difficult to imagine more and more sales as the success of the team continues.

Additionally

I have mentioned many additions that are offered at Toyota stadium. The back door before the match, drummers, DJs, cheerleaders, fan clubs, patio bars, even banal dogs — all this creates a truly special gaming experience.

As in any other sports franchise, FC Dallas has its own mascot with whom you can communicate and delight fans. Tex Hooper — anthropomorphized Texas steering wheel in football equipment. He walks around the crowd, takes pictures with fans — especially with children — and participates in field ceremonies. It is not difficult to notice, and he is an excellent photographer for fans of all ages.

History

The Toyota Stadium became the third MLS football stadium built after the Mapfre Stadium in Columbus, Ohio, and the Dignity Sports and Recreation Park near Los Angeles. It cost about 80 million dollars and was opened on August 6, 2005, when the match ended in a match between Dallas and New York Red Bulls with a score of 2–2. The stadium has a capacity of 20,500 U-shaped people with a northern edge, including a permanent indoor concert venue, similar to the SeatGeek stadium near Chicago, which opened a year after the Toyota stadium.

While hoping that the permanent scene would help the stadium increase revenue by holding medium-sized concerts, the design was unpopular, while other MLS clubs refused to build permanent scenes at their new stadiums, making the design of the Toyota Stadium stadium outdated. Among the fans of the club is widespread support for the removal of the scene and replace it with a full stand in the next stage of reconstruction. The stadium includes 18 luxury apartments, as well as its own stadium club with an area of 6,000 square meters.

The stadium hosted the MLS Cup final, seeing how the Los Angeles Galaxy defeats the New England Revolution 1–0 in extra time for their second MLS Cup. It was also chosen to accept the MLS Cup, which ended 1–1 after overtime with Dynamo Houston defeating the New England Revolution 4–3 on penalty kicks. FC Dallas accepted and won the US Cup final, also against the Revolution.

Construction was completed on an extensive reconstruction of the southern end of the stadium. The reconstruction included a European-style roof, built over a new multi-tiered stand, which replaced the old whitening section, the US Open Cup Lamar Hunt club, located on the second level, a seating area for season three subscriptions, new locker rooms, patio, store, porch, ticket office and press conference. Although many supporters of the club wanted roof structures to be built over the western and eastern stands to provide shade during the brutal Texas summer, these projects were postponed until the next stage of reconstruction. The $ 55 million project also included a new National Football Hall of Fame.

Complex

The complex also has an additional 17 adjustable sizes, stadium-quality football fields (both grass and artificial turf) outside the main stadium. These fields are used for training Dallas FC, matches for the reserve structure of Dallas FC and for holding football tournaments. Youth tournaments in which the complex was used include the Dallas Cup, the National Olympic Development Championship, the adidas Generation Cup, and the USYSA National Championship.

Stadium name

Property rights belonged to the national pizza chain Pizza Hut, headquartered in the nearby city of Plano, Texas, and the stadium was known as Pizza Hut Park.Nicknames for Pizza Hut Park included PHP, Hut and The Oven, the latter referring to the summer climate of Texas during the daytime games (and also because the field is well below ground level). When the contract for the pizza franchise and the stadium expired, the stadium was renamed Dallas FC.

Dallas FC reached an agreement with Toyota, which would later transfer its headquarters in the United States to Plano to rename their home stadium Toyota Stadium. The 17 training fields around the stadium will be called the Toyota Soccer Center.

National Football Hall of Fame

Plans were announced that the stadium will be the new home of the National Football Hall of Fame (NSHOF). In addition to the NSHOF Museum, the southern part of the stadium was thoroughly repaired, and the entire project cost $ 55 million. The Hall of Fame consists of two components — the NSHOF Experience and the NSHOF Club. The Experience Museum houses the venue for the annual opening ceremony at the Hall of Fame. The club includes special places for owners of seasonal tickets for all home matches of FC Dallas, as well as several venues for events that function as food and beverage centers on game days. NSHOF includes football souvenirs, modern technologies and virtual reality exhibitions.
