Touchbacks follow the kicking occasions: kickoffs, punts or fumbles. It is correct if the receiving team’s executor recovers the ball before it crosses the goal line completely and enters the end zone. If the receiving team fields the ball in its end zone and the ball carrier retreats it in its end zone with being downed, it’s a safety.
The fumbles also contain touchback chances. It happens if the ball carrier loses it without tackling forward into the opposite end zone. It must go out of bounds behind or above the goal line pylons. Then the passing player recovers it and downs with a touchback. Relating to the punt, the touchbacks happen if the receiving team recovers the ball in the end zone. If the kicking receivers touch the ball, it’s a touchdown.
The touchback costs two points. It doesn’t give bonuses like an extra point kick.
